Sri Lankan twins in Paris produce Buddhist song

Entertainment

Dinuth Dewmina and Dineth Sithumina are two twin brothers living with their parents in the village of Suren near Paris. They have captured hearts with their song “Ape Buduhamuduruwo” written by K. Ananda Thero.

They started school at three years old and are now in their sixth year of schooling. Despite living in Europe, they have a strong understanding of Buddhism and Sinhala culture. Every Sunday, they attend “Dhamma Chakka” school to learn the Sinhala language and Buddhism at the Paris Buddhist Vihara. There, they learn from Kongasdeniye Ananda Thero, who is also the head monk. Their parents speak to them in Sinhala at home, ensuring the boys are fluent in the language from a young age.

Dinuth enjoys playing the piano, while Dineth loves the guitar. Their parents recognized their talents early and enrolled them in an art institute in France to study Western Music. Their debut song “Ape Buduhamuduruwo” released in May, quickly gained popularity on social media and TV channels.

Dinuth and Dineth’s passion for Western and Sinhala music makes them unique. Their Sri Lankan parents aim to instill strong character, virtues, and cultural knowledge in them. Despite being far from their homeland, the boys are growing up with a deep appreciation for their roots.

As Dinuth and Dineth continue their education and musical journey, we hope they will bring pride to Sri Lanka and inspire others with their talents and dedication. May they have the strength and courage to succeed in all their endeavours and carry the Sri Lankan name to the world.
