It will be a choral feast when the works of some renowned English composers, including Byrd, Tallis, Parry, Stanford, Matthias and Rutter are performed by the Colombo Philharmonic Choir (CPC) on Wednesday, September 25, at 7.30 p.m. at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Kollupitiya.
‘Te Deum: A celebration of English choral music’, is directed by the CPC’s Choral director Harin Amirthananthan.
On September 24 and 25, the Lionel Wendt Gallery will play host to the artistic work of the students of Elizabeth Moir School.
Research scientist and conservation expert, Prof. Sampath Seneviratne will deliver this month’s National Trust lecture on Wednesday, September 25 at 6 p.m. at the Auditorium of the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka, No. 6, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7.
Prof. Seneviratne whose current research focuses on the evolution and movement ecology of birds, will talk on “Endemism and Extinction: The Hallmark of Island Biodiversity”.
