Diary of events this week

Features

Rotation 2 of the exhibition ‘Total Landscaping’ at the Museum of Modern and
Contemporary Art Sri Lanka’s (MMCA Sri Lanka) offers fresh lineup of public
programmes. Entrance to the museum located on the ground floor of Crescat Boulevard,
Colombo 3 and all of its public programmes is free.
The Choir of S. Thomas’ Preparatory School, directed by Harin Amirthanathan will
present a programme of Christmas carols on Friday, December 20, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm.
The MMCA Sri Lanka will also offer artwork spotlights on Sunday, December 22 and 29
from 11am to 12pm. These one-hour sessions led by the museum’s Visitor Educators focus
on selected artworks from the exhibition.

Muvindu Binoy's exhibition Automata now on at PRSFG (Paradise Road Saskia Fernando
Gallery) in Colombo.
The artist’s negotiation with a seemingly endless repository of digital images and
generative AI becomes a testament to the flux created by rapidly expanding fields of
information. Automata unfolds like a fever dream, brimming with tropical abundance
where discordant fragments; vintage photographs, strings of text, and assorted memorabilia
opens a discourse on identity, gender, and culture with dry humour.
