Mrs Nobuko Munidasa will hold a special Ikebana Exhibition at The Mall at the Port City foyer on August 13 to mark her 80 th birthday. Open to the public free of charge from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the journey of a Master in one of Japan’s most revered art forms.

It will be delivered by Dr. Malaka Abeywardana,Head Veterinarian – Elephant Transit Home, Udawalawe who will offer an insider’s perspective on what it takes to raise and release a wild elephant.The Elephant Transit Home (ETH), established in 1995 by Sri Lanka’s Department of Wildlife Conservation, is today recognised as the world’s most successful elephant rehabilitation and rewilding programme.

Veteran artist Chandraguptha Thenuwara presents his annual memorial exhibition at Saskia Fernando Gallery. Titled ‘Neo-Glitch’, his new collection revisits the questions raised in his 2016 ‘Glitch’ Series, reflecting
on persisting social and political issues despite changes in government.
Thenuwara’s exhibition series held annually on the 23rd of July commemorates the events of ‘Black July’ of 1983. Acting as a bridge between the past and the present, the exhibition invites the viewer to contemplate unaddressed issues that have persisted for four decades. Neo- Glitch is on until August 23.
