Also on at the Museum is an exhibition titled ‘Feminist Futures: Art, Activism, and South Asian Womanhood which will continue until October 8. Curated by Dr. Arshiya Lokhandwala, features leading women artists from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Their work challenges audiences to engage with urgent questions of gender and power, acting as both a call to action and a space for solidarity.

On until Sunday, September 28, the George Keyt Foundation’s Young Contemporaries exhibition at the Barefoot Gallery in Colombo sees the best of the country’s emerging new talent on show. The featured artists are: Malinda Jayasinghe from Gampaha, Fatima Awrad and Bilaal Raji Saheed from Colombo, Chathushi Buddhika Premasiri from Kosgama, Catharina Danial from Jaffna, Ishara Madhuwanthi Hapangama from Bandarawela, Chalith Kalupahana from Wadduwa, Uditha Chirantha from Maharagama, Ponnaiyah Peter from Kilinochchi, Dishrath Seneviratne and Rajitha Perera from Kandy, and Sudarshi Ranabahu from Kurunegala.

The exhibition also has artist-led walkthroughs and conversations with participating artists, providing visitors with deeper insights into the creative processes and inspirations behind the works.
