KALA – a platform for South Asian Art which runs from February 10-28 has
two exhibitions ongoing at the University of Visual and Performing Arts on
Horton Place, Colombo 7.
Pivot, Glide, Echo looks at the development of Sri Lankan art while
celebrating the foundation led by the great Lankan artists of yester year such
as David Paynter, J.D.A. Perera, H.A. Karunaratne and the evolution of
contemporary talents such as Jagath Ravindra, Pala Pothupitiye, T.
Shanaathanan and many more.
KALA Commune is the result of a month-long residency which saw seven
South Asian artists of different disciplines come together to work and share
their knowledge in an immersive open studio at the UVPA.
The exhibitions are on from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe said today he wholly rejects the Batalanda Commission report and that it was appointed wholly with the intention slinging political mud at him.
