Veteran singer Amitha Wedisinghe, a senior artiste who also served as a music teacher, passed away last Thursday.
Amitha was a top ranked artiste of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), was 82 years old at the time of her demise.
The late Amitha Wedisinghe was known for timeless hits like ‘Senkadagalapura Dalada Budures’, ‘Adara Charika’, ‘Anothaththa Wila’ and ‘Ran Dorin Enna Adaren’.
Her remains now lie at Jayaratne Restpect, Colombo 8 and the cremation will take place at Borella Cemetery on Tuesday February 25 at 3.30pm.
