‘Mayawe Ma’ – Bi-lingual song

Features

Love means poetry, poem means love. It has to be said that there are no poets who have not sung about love. That is the reason most of the songs revolved around the beautiful love .

In that case, we have listened to and admired many types of songs and some songs will always linger in our humming. If there are no love songs in such humming, then you should be an ascetic, because you can't separate love and songs or poems.

As we all know, love has no race, religion or language. Sanjai Yo proves that love songs also have no such attributes through his 7th song, ‘Mayawe Ma’, a Tamil and Sinhala languages mixed love song. Sanjai yo, is an India born Sri Lankan, who is currently residing in Malaysia.

He shines as a multi-faceted artist among the artists in our country. He is the Tamil poet for this song and of course he sang the Tamil version while the Sinhala lyrics have been written and sung by Indrajith. The music has been composed by Asira Fernando.

With the intention of blending the visuals for this song with nature, Sanjai Yo has filmed this video song in Sri Lanka in order to potray the Imaginary Love (Mayawe Ma) with the nature of his own country. He really captured the scenic beauty of his hometowns, Kandy and Galaha through this musical video.

All the while, Sanjai Yo has featured Malaysian artists in his previous songs. It has to be mentioned that this is the first time he has given opportunity to Sri Lankan artists to be the main part of this song.

A new face, Sri Varuni makes her debut as the heroine of ‘Mayawe Ma’. Artists Usha, Shangari, Daya Atthanayake and Nirmala Atthanayake appear in supporting roles as Sanjai Yo plays the hero.
Cinematography of the song is handled by Saron J and the make-up has been ably handled by Agal-shaki.
Along with them, national award winning poster designer, V.M. Thilojan again joins hands with Sanjai Yo in this beautiful piece.

Apart from the lyrics, Sanjai Yo has written the script and coordinate the screenplay of this song. An up-coming director in Sri Lanka, R. Sujeedharan has worked with him as the Assistant Director.

Sanjai Yo and the team will definitely capture the heart and soul of all the  music lovers in Sri Lanka by presenting such a wonderful dwi-language love song.
