Indian Cultural Centre, Colombo will be organizing a Bharatha Natyam recital named “Conversions with my Hari” presentation showcasing various perspectives of the devotee by Kiranmayee Madupu from India on December 8, 2016, at 6.00 p.m. at its auditorium at Indian Cultural Centre, 16/2 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.
Kiranmayee Madupu is Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer from India who has carved a niche for herself in the field of Bharatanatyam owing to her training under Guru Hemamalini Arni carrying the rare legacies of T.Balasaraswati (Padmabhushan Awardee) and Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai (Padmashri Awardee), both of whom need no introductions in the world of classical dance, a statement said.
With expressive interpretation and graceful, lilted style of dance, Kiranmayee brings a fresh yet profound dimension to her dance. She has extensively performed in India and abroad including London, Birmingham, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai.
Kiranmayee is also the founder of ‘Hema Arangam - The Golden Platform’. Hema Arangam is a cultural enterprise that provides Bharatnatyam lessons in Hyderabad and promotes all forms of performing and visual arts through innovative initiatives. She is also a vocalist, accomplished painter and a freelance graphic designer, a statement from the Indian Cultural Centre said.
