With less than a week to go till Christmas Day Colombo is covered in festive cheer. Shop windows are dressed with tinsel, fake snow and mannequins adorned with Santa Claus hats.
Take a trip down Pettah and you can find Christmas trees ranging from 4ft to 12ft. With hawkers selling a huge variety of coloured baubles, giant golden stars and even inflatable Santas to decorate these imitation ferns.
