Six designers who showcased their work were Aslam Hussein, Meraki, MAUS, LIMAK, Vathsala Gunasekara and International designer Suket Dhir.

The first to take the ramp was Aslam Hussein. The collection focused mainly on white and beige, and had shiny elements in each piece. ‘Can't Take My Eyes off You’, and’ Isn’t she lovely’ were sung live to compliment to Aslam’s showcase, which ultimately formed the backdrop of the entire collection. The collection could be described as elegant as a whole, and formed the perfect opening for the third day of HSBC Colombo Fashion Week.

Next to take the stage was former Emerging Designer, Vathsala Gunasekara whose collection focussed on Botanical elements. Each piece, had some relevance to plants and the highlight of the entire collection was the dress and the blouse which had purple flowers imprinted on them.

Meraki, showcased a collection with bright colours, and overall it was bold. The sleeves of the pieces were different, and unusual with cloth jutting out in certain pieces. The collection showed it’s boldness mainly in the sleeves, which overall seemed to defy gravity.

A model walked down the runway, with both hands holding up a dress and the essence of the collection of LIMAK could be understood. The fabric was plentiful and as it stretched up, its beauty and elegance could be seen. MAUS, then presented their collection which was monotone in colour but the simplicity of it made it beautiful.

The last event of the show was the most awaited for as audiences were extremely excited to see the collection of Indian designer, Suket Dhir. The collection was fantastically cut and was perfect for work or any other formal occasion.
