The fifth successive festival of Guitar Music, ‘Guitar Fest 2015 Concert’ will come alive on the 24th January at Navarangahala , Royal College auditorium from 5.00 pm. All leading guitarists of Sri Lanka will perform in this concert. A number of foreign guitarists are also expected to perform. Ken Gonzo Sugamata of Japan who is a specialist in classical and Brazilian styles of samba and bosanova will be the special attraction at this concert. He will also have a workshops on guitar playing sessions on 21st, 22nd and 23rd at the Russian Centre in Colombo. Derek Wickramanayake (Rock), Upula Madushanka (Bass), Anthony Surendra (Fusion), Prasad Silva(Hawaiian), Jude Pieris (Classical), Mohomed Iqbal (Trova), Thilak Abeysinghe (North Indian guitar style), Sharma (Carnatic music), Billy Fernando and Nigel Fernando along with scores of musicians will perform in this concert. The entrance to the ‘Guitar Fest 2015’ concert is free of charge. ‘The main aim of the concert is to popularise music among people.
