The Interact Club of Colombo along with the Rotary Club of Battaramulla and the Speaker Global Organization has joined hands to provide a platform for the youth of today to voice their thoughts on any social issue, on any endearing concept, on any factor the participant feels is vital.
A speech competition where anyone ranging from the ages 16 – 25 can compete from anywhere in the entire island. According to a statement by the organisers this competition is the perfect way for youngsters to showcase your hidden talents.
For you to make your voice heard. For you to let out everything you had been previously keeping bottled up inside of you. For you to cascade a shower of emotions and deep feelings.
The first two rounds of this prestigious speech competition will be held on the 20th of October at Royal College. The first round consists of a prepared speech which is required to be delivered by the competitors on any topic of their choice. The qualifiers of the first round will partake in the second round where they will have to give an impromptu speech with fifteen minutes of preparation on a topic of the organizers’ choice.
The third round will be held on the 21st of October, at the Lavender room in BMICH. This round will be a fusion of uniqueness combined with self-improvement, basked in the spirit of healthy competition. The participants who qualify in the second round will be allowed a prepared speech in the third round, however, they will be required to connect their speech to, or speak on the topic of ‘unity in diversity’.
