Designer retail store Zudhora opened its doors last week at Reid Avenue, Colombo 07 (next to Lakpahana). Alongside international labels the store will retail selected pieces from collections created by Sri Lankan designers, tapping into a rapidly burgeoning market for locally produced designer-wear.
Zudhora is the brainchild of fashion designers Charini Suriyage and Ramona Oshini, both of whom have enjoyed significant success at fashion weeks and designer stores locally and abroad. Zudhora will not stock full collections, noted Ms. Suriyage, instead choosing to retail selected pieces from each designer’s latest collection.
These can vary from cool, comfortable kaftans perfect for our muggy weather to chic shirts and glamorous evening wear. The store will renew its collection frequently, noted the owners, adding that each piece will be chosen for its own merit.
