Classic music joins classic rock! A 24 piece orchestra and the best voices in western music come together to give you Rockestra, a classic Funtime Production on November 25 at the Vihara Maha Devi Park.
Rockestra was first produced by Imran Saibo of Funtime almost a decade ago to a sellout audience at the BMICH. Rockestra combines a 24 piece classical orchestra with a host of talented local musicians Sri Lanka in a revival of a nostalgic musical journey spanning the music of Pink Floyd, Joe Cocker , Deep Purple and the Rock classics of the 70’s and 80’s.
Forty voices – will get on stage to enthral you with a range of music and video graphics.
The performers include, Chitral Somapala, guitarist Derek Wikramanayake, the founding member of Wildfire, Harsha Makalande and Khrome, a 20 piece orchestra, Mirage led by former Amazing Grace star Donald Pieris, Geoff Fernando, Russel Fernando who returns to the stage in a one night only performance, Dylan Manuel, Noeline Honter, Shane Berenger, Kevin Almeida and Sherry.
