The All Island Inter-School Shakespeare Drama Competition is back for the 46th year. The competition is organized annually by the Young Men’s Christian Association of Colombo (Colombo YMCA) and Rotary Club of Colombo North.
Since 1973, the main goal of the competition has been to improve English Language skills and to shape youth who are interested in participating in the arts and theatre by getting a start through one of the greatest poets and playwrights - William Shakespeare.
This year 35 Schools will participate and the semi-finals of the competition will be held at the Lionel Wendt Theatre and the Finals at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.
The semi-finals will be held from Sept 16 – 19 while the finals will be held on Sept 27 and Sept 29.
