Ten-month-old twins were found hacked to death at their residence in Sammanthurai this morning, police said.
According to the police, the killing is believed to have taken place in the washroom of the house.
The mother who is suspected to have carried out the killing has been admitted to the Sammanthurai hospital following the incident.
Police noted that the mother had been suffering from mental health issues.
Sammanthurai police are investigating further into the incident.
