19-year old German national drowns at sea
A 19-year old German tourist has died after drowning in the Wennapuwa - Nainamadama beach, Wennappuwa police said.
The incident had occured when the tourist had gone for a swim along with three locals.
Efforts to rescue the victim proved futile as he was pronounced dead on admission to the Marawila General Hospital.
The remains of the victim who has been identified as Elian Niyanyar Obara Bongasa a resident of Subun lie at the Marawila General Hospital.
