200 state-run bodies delay submitting annual reports

The Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis have uncovered that about 200 businesses and institutions in state ownership have not put forward their annual reports to Parliament in the past two years.

The Committee has issued an order to the Department of Public Enterprises to get underway to submit the annual reports of the relevant entities to the Parliament before October 30 of 2023, said the Committee Chief MP Gamini Waleboda.

Meanwhile, two members have also been appointed to the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis following the resignation of Parliamentarians Palani Thigambaran and M. Rameshwaran.
