The government has taken steps to repatriate 236 Sri Lankan civil ship crew members to home tomorrow, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said. Accordingly UL 1206 Sri Lankan Flight is scheduled to arrive in Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport tomorrow (6) from Hamburg, Germany with expatriates, consisting of 236 civil ship crew stranded in foreign ports.
They will be sent to the tri services-managed Quarantine Centres after PCR tests.
As of today (5), a total of 844 Navy personnel confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus. Among them, 443 discharged from hospital after full recovery. A total of 401 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals.
