A total of 237 COVID-positive cases were reported from prisons on Monday (7), the Government Information Department said. On Sunday, 197 prison inmates were tested positive for coronavirus.
Two males, aged 62 and 77 died from COVID-related complications at the National hospital, Colombo and Homagama base hospital, Director General of Health Services confirmed. Both are residents of Colombo. Yesterday’s two deaths increased the death toll from the virus to 142.
