Twenty eight UNP working committee members have signed a letter which was handed to UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, requesting him to summon a Working Committee meeting no later than Dec 20.
According to the request put forward to Mr Wickremesinghe, it said the main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the present political situation in the country and to discuss the necessity to appoint new office bearers.
