Police have arrested a 47-year old man today (Oct 18) over the possession of firearms without a valid license in Kegalle.
The arrest was made following a tip off received by IGP Pujith Jaysaundara.
The suspect has been identified as Mohamed Imtiyas Cader and a resident of Kegalle.
The Organized Crimes Division is conducting further investigations into this regard.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
