Legal action will be taken against supervisors/managements of 473 state and commercial establishments in Western province that have not adhered to quarantine guidelines, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said 2823 institutions ranging from offices, shops, and factories were inspected by police officers attached to Environment police and local health officers.
“The 473 institutions have violated quarantine laws by not installing handwashing facilities, not having sanitizers or have failed to assign a person to check body temperature. These are punishable under the Quarantine Ordinance,” the Police Spokesman said.
He said inspections will continue in the coming weeks.
