Mahiyangana police have seized 73 anti-aircraft bullets from the possession of a suspect in Mannar yesterday (Mar 06).
The suspect has been identified as a 36-year old army deserter who is a resident of Mahiyangana.
Police officers had also confiscated 273 bullets used to fire T-56 guns from the suspect.
He will be produced before the Mahiyangana Magistrates Court today.
Mahinyangana police are conducting further investgiations to determine whether the suspect is in possession of other live ammunition.
