A total of 78 suspects have been remanded over their involvement in the recent unrest which broke out in the North-Western Province, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The suspects had been taken into custody in the Kurunegala, Kuliyapitiya, Nikaweratiya, and Chilaw areas.
Meanwhile, the other individuals who were involved in the recent incidents of violence are to be arrested using the assistance of CCTV footage, the Police Spokesman noted.
