About 9000 police officers have been deployed round the clock to apprehend drunk drivers as well as those violating road rules including speeding and reckless driving during the festive season, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
“Already 400 drunk drivers have been arrested since December 20 to date. Five persons were killed and 30 others injured from road accidents on Thursday (24),” DIG Rohana said.
