The selection committees appointed to examine and ascertain the accuracy of declarations for the 'Aswesuma' welfare scheme have completed 95% of the verifications of declarations submitted by the intended beneficiaries, State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said.
The payments of all welfare benifits will be made from July under the “Aswesuma” Scheme, the minister said on Twitter.
"This will ensure welfare benifits will be given on a transparent selection process by which the recipients can be identified. Dates will be notified to submit objections to the names included in the list or claims to be included to conduct an inquiry & arrive at a decision," he further said.
