The A-9 main road to Jaffna, which was previously closed at Omanthai due to flooding, has now been reopened for traffic, according to the police.
The road was closed yesterday as floodwaters inundated the area near Nochchimoddai Bridge and Omanthai Town, within the Omanthai Police Division.
However, with the floodwaters having receded, the police have confirmed that normal traffic movement on the A-9 road has resumed.
