A forty-two-year-old man was arrested by the police yesterday (27) on suspicion that he was storing garbage tea at a warehouse in Wattala.
The Colombo Crimes Division said that they carried out a raid following a tip off made regarding a warehouse which was allegedly storing a haul of garbage tea.
The police said that the suspect was arrested along with 5921 kilos of tea suspected to be garbage tea.
The police said that the suspect is to be produced before Wattala Magistrate court today (28).
