The cabinet of ministers have approved transferring a portion of land belonging to Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation to build a grid substation of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
Both Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited and the CEB have made requests from the Urban Development Authority for a portion of Land in Kelaniya area to build a grid substation to strengthen the electricity transmission in Kelaniya.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing had proposed to release a portion of land in extent of 02 roods and 26.5 perches to Ceylon Electricity Board from the
land acquired for Mudun Ela Development Project by Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation. The land is subject to the chief valuer.
