A top level International Monetary Fund Team is scheduled to arrive in Colombo today (Monday 14) on 2-day short visit to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa, IMF and Finance Ministry sources confirmed.
They will convey the outcome of the Article IV consultation and the Executive Directors views on the current economic situation of the country during their discussions with Sri Lankan high-level authorities, a senior Finance Ministry official said.
He added that Sri Lanka has not made an official request from the IMF with regard to any structural adjustment or, bailout facility, but IMF has not ruled out the possibility of any other options to assist Sri Lanka. (Bandula)
