Airman Roshan Abeysundara of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has set a new record while swimming from Mannar to Danushkodi and returning within 28 hours, 19 minutes and 43 seconds, the SLAF said today.
Commencing the swim from the Uruthota jetty in Talaimannar to Danushkodi by 2.00 a.m. Saturday he arrived at the starting point yesterday morning.
Accordingly, Roshan recorded a distance of 59.3 kilometres and has renewed Kumar Anandan's record which was recorded in 1971 by swimming the Palk Strait, SLAF also said.
