A request was made to assist in building a Tirumala Tirupathi Temple in Sri Lanka, Eastern province Chief Minister Senthil Thondaman said.
He said at a discussion with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jegan Mohan Reddy recently, he highlighted that the Lord Tirumala Tirupathi Temple has a large follower base in Sri Lanka with majority being elderly persons who are not in a position to travel for Dharshan.
The Chief Minister said he has received a positive response from his counterpart.
Mr. Thondaman said he requested the CM of Andhra to urge investors to set up industries at the Trincomalee harbour industrial park and the the BOI textile park in Batticoloa.
