All 44 persons arrested yesterday for protesting outside the President's office in Colombo have found to be negative for the Rapid Antigen test, Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said.
They will, however be produced in courts later in the day.
They have been charged for taking part in an unlawful gathering, obstructing traffic and violating the quarantine rules.
Among those arrested are several female teachers.
