Former Senior State Attorney Anusuya Shanmuganathan has been appointed as a member of the Election Commission by President Ranil Wickremasinghe.
Ms. Shanmuganathan, also served as a Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission.
The four member Election Commission now consists of R.M.A.L.Ratnayake (Chairman), M.A.P.C. Perera (member), Ameer Mohommed Faiz (member) and Anusuya Shanmuganathan (member).

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
