The Appeal Court issued a stay order temporarily halting the registration of 15 government held elephants released back to previous caretakers.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Courts recently ordered the release of elephants to their caretakers. The elephants were taken into government custody over issues in license as well as registration.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
