The beneficiaries who have not put forward appeals and objections pertinent to the ‘Aswesuma’ welfare benefits scheme will receive their payments starting from this month, says Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe.
As yet, the Welfare Benefits Board has received 982,770 appeals and 62,368 objections in total.
In the meantime, the Government will proceed with the disbursement for the elderly citizens, disabled persons and kidney patients without alteration, underlined Minister Semasinghe.
Yesterday, Minister Semasinghe stressed that the evaluation of appeals and objections received in respect to the ‘Aswesuma’ welfare benefits scheme is expected to commence by the respective District Secretaries before long.
