The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) on Monday denied it has sought a capital infusion from the Government as reported in The Sunday Times Business on Sunday.
“We wish to clearly state that no such capital infusion of Rs.40 billion has been initiated or approved for the Bank of Ceylon as of this date. Further, this article has been published without any consultation or verification with any official source at the bank,” the BOC said in a statement to the newspaper.
