The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has informed Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena that it has commenced an assets investigation on Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
A letter sent by the CIABOC to the Speaker has informed that the investigation is being conducted under the Anti-Corruption Act.
Accordingly, the CIABOC has requested Parliament for certified copies of assets and liabilities declarations submitted by Mr Premadasa to the Speaker during his time as an MP from 2017 to 2023.
