Former Chairman of Rakna Lanka, Major General (Retd) Palitha Fernando and Avant-Garde Chairman Nissanka Yapa Senadhipathi were today released from a bribery case filed against them.
Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja delivered the verdict.
The Bribery Commission today informed courts that they were withdrawing the indictments as all three Commissioners had not given the approval to file the charges. However the court was informed that the right refile the charges were being retained.
The Bribery Commission had lodged the case against them on allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs 35.5 million to maintain a floating armory at the Galle Fort.
