Police have turned away several buses heading to Kandy with pilgrims for the ‘Dalada Vandanawa’ as the city is already overcrowded.
The move came after at least 400 vistors were hospitalised in Kandy and three deths were reported over last few days .
Several buses heading from Kurunegala, Colombo and Mahiyanganaya had been turned away midway by the Police today .
The special train service from Colombo to Kandy too has been cancelled.
Police had earlier appealed to the public not to arrive in Kandy today and tomorrow as the city is already over crowded with more 300,000 persons.
