The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) recently uncovered counterfeit hair-darkening products sold under a popular brand name. Genuine sub-packs weigh 21g, while the fakes weigh only 10g.
Following a raid, the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court ordered the destruction of seized counterfeit items and imposed fines on two businessmen who pleaded guilty.
The CAA urges consumers to stay alert for fake products and report suspicious cases to their hotline, 1977.
