The Constitutional Council has approved the appointment of President's Counsel Rohantha Abeysooriya as the President of the Court of Appeal. The approval has reportedly been sent to the Rohantha Abeysooriya PC, a Senior Additional Solicitor General at the Attorney General's Department headed its Criminal Division in the past. The new appointment in the wake of acting president, M.T. Mohammed Laffar is ro retire from judicial service from tomorrow onwards.
