Officials attached to the Criminal Information Department (CID) recorded a statement from former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella over importing substandard Human Immunoglobulin to the country during his tenure.
According to Police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa, the recording of a statement from the former Minister is part of ongoing investigations into the importation of substandard vaccines by authorities which led to alleged financial misappropriation of Rs 130 million.
Last week, the CID arrested former Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Chandraguptha over the incident as well.
