Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Trade Unions fear that the ongoing fuel crisis will have an impact on their employement.
CPC unions members today staged a protest near the Sapugaskanda oil refinery demanding that the government ensures that their employment is protected by ensuring that a proper policy on fuel imports is implemented.
CPC Trade union Collective spokesman Bandula Saman Kumara said they the government should draw up a national policy on importation of fuel.
He pointed out that in the wake of the LIOC increasing fuel prices, the CPC losses will further increase as the market share of the CPC will increase.
