A project titled “Marine Nights: Awakening Colombo’,’ to develop the area from Kollupitiya station to Dehiwala station as a night tourism hub was approved by cabinet on Monday.
The area along Marine Drive will cover a distance of about 7.4 kilometers.
The project is to boost the tourist infrastructure of Colombo and increase the night-time tourism activities.
The proposal to cabinet was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism to incorporate a limited liability company to manage the project.
