At present, public sector fertilizer companies have 28,600 metric tons of MOP fertilizer. According to this, the price of MOP fertilizer can be reduced by 50 per cent by reducing the cost of MOP fertilizer, said Dr. Jagath Perera, Chairman of Government-owned Fertilizer Companies.
Accordingly, the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry Mahinda Amaraweera said that the cabinet paper related to reducing the price of MOP fertilizer by 50 percent has been submitted to the Cabinet and it will be approved by the Honorable President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation stated this while starting the development of Walasmulla Omara village as a second-stage agribusiness village yesterday (05).
