The Cabinet has decided to suspend the import of even a limited number of motor vehicles as planned.
The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The decision to suspend the initial plan was taken considering the current situation in the country, PM's Media Division said.
JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake commenting about the initial plan said the mentality of the MPs were exposed by demanding for vehicles at a time when the country is going through a crisis.
