The Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Ratnayake has been officially removed from his post by the Treasury.
The letter removing from his post signed by Acting Secretary of the Treasury has been sent to Mr Ratnayake.
The letter said that terms of section 07(a) (V) of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka act, No, 35 of 2002, Hon Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National policies has removed you from the membership of the Public Utilities Commission od Sri Lanka with effect from May 24, 2023, resolved by parliament.
Further in terms of the 8 (3) of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Act, no.35 of 2002, you shall cease to be the Chairman of Chairman of the Commission with effect from May 24,2023.
